| Honestly, I don't know what the story in this manga is (not sure if there was one or I just don't remember it). I really am starting to lose interest, it's pretty much the same thing chapter after chapter. Personally, I think it's kinda pointless. Spoiler (mouse over to view) sex and then more sex, cheating, affairs, orgies, no common sense, "drama"...all without any really obvious story or plot points (is this perhaps a slice of life?) |

| I think that i am too pissed to give an objective rating to this series so i am just going to post a few sentences about my thoughts on manga i am running in to lately. Whats the point of this manga? Whats wrong with this story? Unless you are a horny teen i dont see how the hell would you give high rating to this, and i am not one of those ppl who goes and finds stuff to troll about that so on, usually if i dont like some manga i read i just think ok i dont like it, its crap. Ofc its my opinion , its not like everything is for everyone and not everyone will enjoy the same story as others. And i don`t post wall's of txt hating on something, its just that i am disappointed. Lately i cant find anything interesting to read in "mangaworld" anymore. I don`t think that i found a manga in last 6 months that had a story i could remember after 1 hour after i finished reading the scaned chapter's. Anyway back to topic, maybe its cause i checked Moto to love ruu darkness before this that i am just sick of stories that focus on getting the reader's horny than actually making an enjoyable read. Its all about sex, i mean wtf are the authors trying to get with this? Don`t get me wrong i have no problem`s if there`s even insane amount of violence or sex in manga actually IF it make`s sense or improves the story i don`t mind it at all, tbh i wish that some of the manga's i read had more(for instance Vagabond, omfg if Takezo would just get to it with his village childhood "friend", soz i forgot the name of that girl). But sex shouldn't be the story, i don`t see the difference between this and some censored porn. Every manga should have a good solid story that the author wants to tell us, i always thought that that`s the point. Unless ppl are rating how many boners they got while reading i just don't get how can this have a 8.something rating. Cause lets be honest this work is just WANNABE porn. Oh i read a comment like" this manga explores human loneliness and the meaning of friends", yeah right......... sure it does...... as much as NRT hentai. OH and the story in this manga, lets just say action > words and that everything said in this manga just cant be. The main lead is some kinda of ice breaker by the words of the mother, and his friend described him as someone who's mind is hard to change. If you think about it the main lead is no different from a call girl, hes basically a manwhore. | Despite all the sex and smut, it actually is really good ( or atleast has the potential to be). the relationship that the main character and the girl have is quite interesting I can't wait to read more DD But it could ease up on the sex scenes.... |

| Yes, it does have a lot of sex scenes and probably some could be avoided, but I really like the main characters, they're not the usual useless male and soft female lead. Both of them have a unique character and the story is keeping me interested so far. Also hope for some development from now on but anyways a good read. | ||

| So far "Velvet Kiss" has been interesting. The relationship between the two main leads - typical salary-man gets together with an atypical tsundere girl - is really intriguing. My only complaint is that there is too many sex scenes. Don't get me wrong, they spice up the manga as they are all beautifully drawn but some chapters could very well do without them. In my opinion, more focus on developing the story would clearly benefit the manga. However, seeing as "Velvet Kiss" is serialized in an adult magazine, one would guess that there won't be any changes soon in that department. | ||

| As AMetroid points out and as should be expected from Harumi Chihiro, the manga spends a lot of time on sex scenes, that, although inexplicit, don't leave overly much to the imagination. Spending more time on the story would be welcome. Nevertheless the story comes through reasonably well, more than well enough for a light entertainment. The art is well drawn: not only neat and easy to follow but also just generally pleasant to admire. I also agree with Darknemo, the characters are well made, the salary man hero as well as our not-so-typical tsundere heroine. Further to that, the plot (as far as the 9th chapter) is intriguing and has a mix of slice-of-life, slowly developing romance between the hero and heroine, hints at their pasts and a bit of foreshadowing for suspense. The exploration of love, friendship, sex and money is far from brilliantly unique so dont expect this to manga to change your world philosophy but it is very well executed and has its touching moments. | It is a good story. Main heroine is a tsundere, but not your usual tsundere type but the classical (oldfashioned) tsundere of the 80's. Starts aloof but progresses to dere eventually. Those who vote the tsundere tag down obviously dont know much about tsundere and just hang on Type A tsundere definition which is incorrect. Its a good story of finding a relationship, but it gets complicated and more exciting than simple love story. Explores human loneliness and the meaning of friends. Sex scenes are often but doesnt really make the story less good in most cases. A deep story, complicated characters and hot tsundere (albeit not Type A) main heroine. | Update: (15 Feb 12) Read: 29 chapters Well the past 5 chapters or so have really kicked up the plot and character development. The intrigue is a bit "soap opera-y", but I found it interesting. Rating: 4/5 If you like seinen drama, and don't mind the softcore action, you should end up liking this manga. I see it wrapping up in v5. It could be extended 2 more volumes, but not at the pace v4 was at. Update: (19 Aug 11) Read: 15 chapters A few plot threads have been tossed out there but still mostly softcore porn.
